Hi,
sorry. I've overlooked this question.
In the process of stopping things related to area building, it went smoothly
for the rules_loop.sh script but osm3s_query kept on running.
I decided to kill -SIGTERM <it>
but it seams to have some undesirable side effet for area queries.
Killing the osm3s_query should have no side effects. It is the job of the transactionality on areas to protect queries from all harm.
You should afterwards delete the areas_shadow.lock file from the database directory. This is a protective measure to avoid that after a crash the osm3s_query restarts.
That said, it would make more sense to have a proper shutdown procedure. Could you please open a github issue?
In addition: could you give details on what the undesirable side effects are? This could help to uncover an otherwise not yet known bug.
Cheers,
Roland
