Everything else, e.g. the /api/ping call (delivers fresh Irish data), looks fine from outside. In particular, the area process should reuse old data blocks on every cycle, and the best hypothesis I have so far is that it doesn't for an unknown reason. The file sizes of the ".idx.shadow", ".idx" and ".shadow" files should shed some light on that.
